Won’t you sleep tonight?

baby cryingI’m trying to put heerow to bed right now, but lately his mom and I are having a hard time putting him down. Not sure what it is, really. A few weeks ago, we would give him a bath, read him some bedtime stories, pop him on the boob, and he’d be out like a light.

These past few days have been quite a challenge, to say the least. It seems like he gets second wind after his bath time ritual. We try to do everything from picking him up to putting him in the crib with and without the mobile on, but nothing seems to work quite like it used to. I know, I know… we read books and blogs out there that say drop the little booger in the crib and let him cry it out until he either falls asleep or runs out of tears, but that’s definitely easier said than done. First off, living in a townhome with shared walls doesn’t exactly put you at the top of your neighbors ‘Best Friends’ list. And second, it really pains me to hear the little guy crying at the top of his lungs. Call me a pushover or call me weak, but when it comes to my little man, I’m really just a sucker… not to mention a rookie dad.

We are having the same problems now w/ our 4 month old. Up ALL night! We aren't the kind of parents who let our kids “Cry It Out.” Good luck man! Stop by my new place if you get the chance. Just starting my blog too. http://adaddystake.blogspot.com/

Don't worry, it gets better… sort of. Maybe we'll learn from each others mistakes? Good luck to you as well.

Thanks for following and I am you newest follower and you are my first Daddy blog! I may have to add you to my blog roll….feel free to do the same:) My husband and I are also not the parents who “ferberize”. I don't care what they say, here was no way I was going to listen to my girls cry it out. Maybe in the long run it would make life easier now…since we have to lie down with them to get them to sleep. They are 3 and 5. But we don't mind…not most of the time. Just go with your gut. Every child is different and every parent has their own parenting style. AS long as you love them and keep them healthy, don't sweat the logistics! It will all work itself out. Blogging is a great way to chronicle the life of your child and your thoughts on parenting. On behalf of the Mommy bloggers, I welcome you!Happy Fathering!

Thanks for the follow, Truthful Mommy. Not only are you the first mommy to visit my site, but you're the first Google Friend Connect, as well. I'm gettin' all warm and fuzzy inside now. I will definitely add your site to my blogroll and I appreciate you doing the same. If you can, pass the word out to all your fellow mommies that I exist! Look forward to reading your great posts.
