Diaper dilemma

We’re one of the millions of households who uses Pampers for our little man’s nether regions. When he was born we tried out samples of a few brands including Huggies and Nature Babycare, but ultimately, Pampers won out. Even with the new DryMax technology that seems to have everyone in a tizzy, we’ve been quite satisfied. The past few days, however, have given us a new challenge…
Getting jolted out of bed to the sounds of the little man whaling at the top of his lungs and staggering to his room at 4am is unnerving enough, but to get there and find his pants drenched in pee is something else. It seems either the diaper isn’t living up to it’s name or the ten gallons of milk he drinks right before he goes to bed is posing a slight problem. We’ve tried stepping up to a bigger size, but now it just looks like he’s got a pair of Depends on. This sucks.

Sorry dude. We didn't quite have the same problem with the Pampers that others did, but in any event we always preferred Huggies Supreme. Truthfully, I prefer that the dang kids learn — quickly — how to use the toilet because handling somebody else's bodily waste is no fun no matter what it's contained in. But that's just me.
Seriously. I just heard from my MIL that back in the days where she's from (South East Asia), in order to save on diapers, they used to hold the babies over the toilet and wait for them to pee and poo.
We use cloth diapers and we don't have any problems. Our little guy is what they consider a “Heavy Wetter” so we just double up on the inserts at night. When my wife first mentioned cloth I was disgusted but so glad we decided to go for it now that we are using them. Little guy has never had any kind of rash and other than the few hundred dollars we spent up front to buy them, we don't have any diaper expense besides special detergent which lasts a long time!
I hate to admit it, but we have a few cloth diapers (fuzzibunz) that we've yet to use. Don't know if it's the fear of a rash or just the fact that we've become too accustomed to using disposables. I need to build up the courage one day and slap 'em on. You're right, they are expensive at first.
